Wrinkle-relaxing injections in the crow's-feet area will relax the big ring muscle around the eyes. This muscle is activated by smiling and squinting. In some areas it is a depressor, in some areas it pulls sideways. Wrinkle-relaxing injections on the side only will help relaxing the muscle and thereby stretching or lifting the crow's-feet up and it will often create a brow lift. It will also over time smoothen out the fine lines that have been created. It will have a preventative and lifting effect.
Wrinkle-relaxing injections in this area opens the eye and makes it look more awake.
Injecting in the thin skin around the eye can cause a minor bruise that usually lasts from a few
days to a week. Normally it can be covered with make-up and is the size of a pea.
Sometimes, if there is a tendency of bagging under the eye that can get worse as the muscle
isn’t allowed to move to drain the lymphatic liquid. This is only temporarily. In some instances
there will be a shift of movement of the muscle to the left of the eye to another area.
