What is Silhouette Soft?

Suitable for men and women, Silhouette Soft is used to lift and regenerate the mid-face, jowls and neck. It is a minimally invasive treatment, designed to treat the signs of ageing and create a natural-looking refreshed appearance. The unique dual action offers both an immediate lift whilst also stimulating long-term collagen production, which helps to increase the volume and restores shapeliness to the face gradually and naturally.

What is the procedure?

Silhouette Soft is made from Polylactic acid (PLA) sutures, surgical threads which are inserted under the skin using a needle (without any incisions), and used to elevate the sagging tissue in problem areas. They stimulate your skin’s own collagen production before completely dissolving over time.

Silhouette Soft thread lifts are performed at the Norup Clinic by Dr Mette Norup, who has been specifically trained in this treatment. A local anaesthetic cream is applied to the face which takes about an hour to take effect. When ready, Silhouette soft threads are then skillfully inserted beneath the skin using a fine needle. Light pressure is applied to gently shape and direct the skin to give an immediate lift. Silhouette Soft can be applied to a variety of areas of the face and neck to achieve the desired results. The thread lift procedure takes approximately 30 minutes.

How long does it last?

A lifting effect can be seen immediately after the treatment, and the rejuvenation effects will begin to be seen after 3 months. The results last over 1 year, enhanced by the collagen stimulation around the threads.

Are there any side effects?

Patients may experience minor pain, swelling and bruising – common side effects with any aesthetic treatment. Slight skin depressions or tightness can occur for a few days following the treatment, but these are typically short lived.

What is the recovery period?

The downtime for a Silhouette Soft treatment is minimal. As with other cosmetic procedures, you may experience some mild bruising or swelling, but should be back to work within 2-3 days. Some patients may experience some side effects slightly beyond this period, but generally full recovery occurs by 2 weeks.

What aftercare is required?

Here are some post-treatment recommendations to aid in recovery and improve results:

• Apply a cold pack immediately after the procedure if required
• No make-up should be worn for the first 24 hours
• Sleep face up, elevated on pillows (3-5 nights)
