What is Silhouette Soft
Often described as a ‘non-surgical face lift’ or a ‘one-stitch face lift’, Silhouette Soft is a unique and innovative solution to help reposition and redefine the jawline, eyebrow and neck. As it is a minimally invasive procedure, the recovery time is minimal and it delivers long-term and natural-looking results. It’s a subtle yet effective non-surgical treatment that gives you immediate results.
How does it work?
Silhouette Soft stimulates gradual and sustained tissue regeneration by boosting your natural collagen.
Through innovative technology, Silhouette Soft Thread Lift works by pulling any fat that has sagged back into place, resulting in a lifted and contoured appearance. Using a very fine needle, the re-absorbable suture threads are gently run through the fat layer which has no nerve endings.
The number of threads used is dependent on the area being treated. Areas that can be contoured and tightened are the mid-face – nasolabial fold, lower face – upper and lower jowl to define the jawline, the eyebrow, and the neck area. Silhouette Soft can also treat parts of the body.
Dr Norup uses numbing cream and local anesthetic proof to the procedure.
Silhouette Soft can be complemented with other aesthetic treatments including skin resurfacing treatments and injectables.

How long does Silhouette Soft last?
The lifting effect of the Silhouette Soft treatment is immediate since it results from the compression of tissues and elevating the skin when the sutures are being implanted. However, this effect will improve as post-procedure swelling subsides and may last for 18 months to about two years. The longevity may be affected by the ageing rate of the individual as well as their lifestyle. Dr Norup will discuss this in more detail during your consultation.
What is the difference between Silhouette Soft and PDO threads?
Silhouette Soft utilises threads composed of poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) and is a very effective thread for lifting tissues.Unlike PDO threads, which gets it’s name from Poly-Dioxanone, SS threads produce a type of collagen which is natural and soft and therefore does not over volumise or plump, giving a much more natural looking result. PDO threads, on the other hand generate a harder, scar type collagen which impacts on the long term mobility in the tissues.
Furthermore, SS threads have a 3D cone technology which provides a higher pull-out tension and higher resistance to slippage compared to PDO threads. This ensures greater efficiency in terms of anchorage and suspension capacity.
Both PDO and SS are materials that have been used as re-absorbable sutures for decades, however PDO threads typically dissolve in the body within six months, whereas SS threads demonstrate greater longevity and last between 18-24 months to dissolve.
Are there any side effects?
Silhouette Soft is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment, however, in some cases, patients can experience minor pain, swelling and/or bruising. Dr Norup will discuss any potential side effects in detail during your consultation, as well as how to care for your skin post-treatment.
