The Art of Ethical Aesthetics

What do we mean by ethical aesthetics?

At the Norup Clinic we are committed to the concept of responsible ethics in aesthetics.

Cosmetic aesthetics has been a rapidly developing area that has changed radically over the last 10 years. Where once a ‘nip and tuck’ was the order of the day to remain looking youthful, today the industry is led by much more subtle approaches favouring injectables, state of the art technology and devices such as micro-needling or HIFU, over surgery.

Looking Good

There are many, many different treatments now available on the market. The demand is greatest for women, but treatments for men are gaining ground – either way it’s all in the name of looking good. And there’s nothing wrong in that. You coordinate your wardrobe and observe fashion, you get your hair cut and coloured regularly, look after your teeth and go to the gym to keep yourself in shape. Now skincare and how your face appears is a core part of modern self-care and personal presentation.

A note of caution

Whilst choosing a non-invasive treatment over surgery is a significant step forward, nevertheless some of the treatments available, when applied in the wrong quantities or in the wrong places can lead to poor outcomes. In fact, in the wrong hands you can face unwanted results that may have lasting effects. You only have to look at some of today’s stars to realise the impact of non-ethical aesthetics! (Katie Price, Madonna, Linda Evangelista, Simon Cowell…)

The way forward

Fortunately there are many examples of the positive impact of the latest ‘tweakments’. Performed by qualified practitioners, these treatments, promote healthy, radiant skin, and soften lines and wrinkles (without appearing frozen). A range of skin boosters and bio stimulants provide great improvements with natural looking results and no scary outcomes. Selected devices enhance the efficacy of products for even better results.

Natural . Sustainable . Healthy

The Norup Clinic’s ethical approach

  1. The patient comes first (we focus on what you want)
We begin with a thorough facial assessment to determine what will give you the best possible results. What we recommend for you is completely bespoke and appropriate for you – no mass-production, bargain packages or one-size-fits-all all.
  2. Natural products
We select our products carefully looking for those that are the safest, most effective and most natural. For example, we use only genuine Allergan Botox®, 100% organic hyaluronic acid Profhilo® skin boosters, Dermafocus Polynucleotides and skincare such as ZO Skin Health® and Alumier® that are vegan and not tested on animals, etc.
  3. Sustainable results
We aim to offer treatments that are forward-looking. We want to ensure that you can continue to look your best for as long as possible, so treatments are planned and delivered in a way that looks natural now, and then varied or adjusted in intensity to work with your face (structure and musculature) as you age, to complement your face. In this way you can look great, natural and not ‘done’.
  4. Prioritising regenerative treatment options
We advocate regenerative treatments that promote new skin cell growth and naturally enhance the skin quality from the inside outwards, as opposed to degenerative treatments such as Radio Frequency (RF) e.g. Morpheus 8.
Laser devices whilst effective at tightening skin in the short term can be quite aggressive and are yet to reveal their consequences in the long term. When incorrectly applied they can cause burning and scarring within the dermis – processes likely to lead to poorer long-term outcomes than non-mechanical treatments such as PRX-T33 and exosomes.
  5. You’re in safe hands
The Norup Clinic is CQC registered, BCAM registered, Safe Face accredited and JCCP registered. Dr Norup is a dentist, highly trained, very experienced and skilled. She creates beautiful results which are appreciated by her loyal clients who revisit time and again.

Responsible aesthetics

So all in all The Norup Clinic’s mission is to help you to look as good as you possibly can, using only the best and most natural, high-quality products, administered by tried and tested devices and techniques, in an age-appropriate way. What’s more, we try all of our treatments ourselves and perfect the balance before we offer them to our clients – so we are absolutely certain of their effectiveness.
